The baseball bats of Bonython

ACT Policing has arrested a 29-year-old man with no fixed abode after he seriously assaulted two people yesterday (Thursday, December 12).

Around 9am yesterday, police attend a house in Bonython after the occupants reported that they had been assaulted earlier in the morning by two men armed with baseball bats.

The two victims, a 42-year-old woman and 38-year-old man were taken to The Canberra Hospital for treatment.

Around 4pm, detectives from ACT Policing Criminal Investigations arrested one of the men involved in the assault.

The 29-year-old man was conveyed to the ACT Watch House and charged with Aggravated Robbery and two counts of Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm.

He is expected to face the ACT Magistrates Court today. Police will be opposing bail.
