The Best Kept Secret in Canberra

Not one to be easily pleased in culinary terms, I had the distinct pleasure of eating a meal in Manuka recently and walked out of the joint stuffed to the brim, and with a whole heap of change, which I would normally consider two features of eating in Manuka that you most certainly won’t come home with.

The place: Legends Spanish Restraunt.

Lured by the sign out front which details that you may eat all you like Ribs on Wednesday nights for a paltry sum of $28, I attended after starving myself from breakfast time Wednesday morning. I was surprised to learn that not only do you get all you can eat ribs, it also covers chicken, fish, chorizo sausage, unidentified meat 1, unidentified meat 2, unidentified meat 3, and pork crackling. There’s also all you can eat salad as well, but who cares about the green stuff (that’s for when you aren’t at the all you can eat place).

The food is cooked to perfection, and goes down well with several spanish beers – although that will jack up the price substantially if you drink a few.

Once you have finished your first platter, the waiter asks you what you would like to see more and less of, and will tailor your plate to suit your tastes. In my case I walked in on the Ribs advert, and got them to bring on a platter laden with extra ribs over fish, but over to the customer.

Verdict: I’m going back soon.

[DISCLAIMER] – I could identify the meats, but since it’s merely BBQ meatstuffs it really could be anything.

Nice one Maeliner! Easily been a year or so since we’ve dined there…. must make a trip again soon!

Wow! You had a good meal by the sounds of it. I ate a year ago. Found it over priced, average food but good staff. Haven’t been back. Legends felt, tasted and charged like Hogs Breath. If $28 is “paltry”, I would suggest you try the Kingston Hotel. It’s in the same neighbourhood and a little cheaper.
