This in from the Canberra Musicians Club:

Melbourne band The Bon Scotts will be appearing on the CMC stage at the Polish Club on July 20 as part of their national tour.

Unearthed says The Bon Scotts defy notions of plain and normal, melding traditional folk instruments with an endearing and satirical voice. Laced with irony and hype, their unconventional hooks and distinct sound have put them at the forefront of the new folk revival.

“Spoz” says “Folk Rock’ is a laughable understatement at best, to what could be BETTER described as a pre-emptive ‘Irish wake’ for kamikaze binge drinkers.”

They should be right at home with us so come along and make them welcome!

The Bon Scotts will be supported by one of Canberra’s most energetic songwriters, The Burley Griffin. Evan Buckley says he’s not satisfied with the mediocre and he needs to keep moving, something he certainly brings to the stage.

If you like your music with plenty of energy and a slight twist this is your night. Doors open at 8, music starts 8.30 tickets $15 full $12 conc or $10 for CMC members
