I love this bit from the Canberra Times report on the incident. “That brothel was later revealed to be unlicensed, despite its prominent location and advertising.”

Right, I was confused as that was about the Gentleman’s Club not Goldencurves, but the article cleared it up nicely.
Another fine example of the high-quality results available from video surveillance cameras.
“The suspect is believed to be wearing shoes. I repeat: shoes.”

Another fine example of how CCTV does not prevent crime.

Seriously, it makes you wonder why youd even bother? We were getting better quality from webcams 10 years ago.

Thats a bit of a long-shot.. about the most I can determine from that video about the suspect is that they have 2 feet, maybe..
Seriously, if we werent told that this was a photo of the incident, I doubt anyone could figure out that this was a photo of a person committing a crime.. or even that it was a photo of a person.

I dunno … that’s a nice bit of knee-thrusting they’ve got going on. Am considering reporting Angelina Jolie.

Police have confirmed that the man was indeed wearing shoes neatly secured to the end of each leg with string, Police now also believe he is also “armed” as the projectile was “thrown”.
I think JB has cracked the case;

Agreed. CCTV doesn’t stop anyone doing anything, and is easily defeated by cheap and simple countermeasures.
Seriously looks like a still shot from some conspiracy theory TV show, trying to prove that ghosts are real.
CCTV is effective but unfortunately it’s also extremely expensive. This is clearly the lower budget format.
This is what you get when you buy cheap cameras,a crappy DVR & don’t clean cobwebs off the cameras
If I were a patron of the brothel in question, the poor quality of their CCTV would come as a bit of a relief to me.
So the cops can’t read the number plate on the fixed car but they can tell the gender?

Did the cops state the gender of the car?

Yup, nothing you want more then knowing the sort of classy people that run brothels have high quality video of you accessing their services.

Probably a few senior public servants, lawyers, academics, so on, who aren’t disappointed about the dodgy video quality.

Presumably “ACT Policing” will solve all currently outstanding crimes reported by law-abiding Canberra citizens before dedicating any resources to solving this crime committed against an illegal clap-trap?
