A lift inside the UNI Pub in the city has been forced open by firefighters this morning after it had locked eight patrons inside.

Patrons were isolated for approximately 50 minute before ACT Fire & Rescue were called. Firefighters used hand tools to pry open the doors of the lift releasing the patrons from the London Circuit and University Ave business at approximately 1.30am.

ACT Ambulance Service intensive care paramedics were also on scene and assessed four patients from the lift. One female was treated for a respiratory condition with no patients requiring hospitalisation.
