Sit down, you need to be sitting down to hear this.
Alright you’re sitting? Good.
The world’s greatest player of the world’s greatest instrument is coming to Canberra!
The world’s greatest instrument is a harmonica by the way.
You know that bit in the Romatics’ song ‘What I like about you’ when the harmonica kicks in and just freaking makes the whole song right there, that’s why the harmonica rocks and that’s what this guy’s show is going to be like from start to finish. It’s going to be all that bit. Remember piano man? It wasn’t the piano that made that track, it was the harmonica.
Harmonicas are obviously the finest of instruments, and Antonio Serrano is the finest of harmonicists.
Antonio Serrano the world renowned spanish harmonica master is coming to Australia for the first time ever and he’s playing his new one man show Harmonious at Canberra Theatre Centre’s Playhouse on Saturday the 29th of March.
Get your ears ready ladies and gentlemen.
Serrano was just a child when he took to the international limelight, playing with the great harmonica master Larry Adler. Now a fully-fledged soloist, with seven albums released, he tours to Australia for the first time with his new show.
Named after his most recent record, Harmonious is an eclectic repertoire of his own unique arrangements; from film themes to folk melodies, Bach to Bacharach, as well as his own original compositions.
With the ease of a true musical genius, Serrano simultaneously accompanies himself on the piano and looping pedals, effortlessly crisscrossing between the genres of Classical, Jazz, Blues, Pop, World and Flamenco.
Each song is accompanied by a story as the maestro invites you into his life for an unforgettable evening in a personal and intimate setting.
