Browsing the Rural Press cover pages (Canberra Times has the number 2 spot, there is no number 1) I came across this beauty on the cover of the Queanbeyan Chronicle:

Queanbeyan Beauty Queen

Congratulations of a sort to Leah Harriden, who was concerned some might think her family association with the show might have had something to do with her victory.

Hrmms, If say Mr Harriden were a member with any significant membership of said judging panel of the ‘prestigious showgirl competition’, then I don’t believe that Ms Harriden should have won without a huge conflict of interest going on.

But as Thumper said it was probably a two horse race, and I’m sure the better horse won.

Then again, it merely reinforces all of those nasty little sayings that go around Canberra about incestuous Queanbeyans and all that drag, this is yet more fuel for the fire…

I’m brave enough to say it, If this is the girl who won, I’m frankly quite scared to see what the competition was like. As a beauty contestant, she may have been better off entering the competition that has ‘dressage’ as one of the events.

Maybe we can send the photo to the original, ‘Cliff Yablonski Hates You’ site.

I don’t think poor Leah should be glassed….However if nyssa has a photo of ‘President Mr Michael Harriden’, that would be a lot of fun…

(snicker snicker)

Hence my enthusiasm for the idea.

If they reckon RA comments are ‘unwelcome’ – I’m tipping they won’t be fans of ‘needs a glassing’… Just a hunch…

Hmm, can’t find the ‘submit a photo’ link.

i hope the folks at ‘needs a glassing’ dont see that photo.

What random words are capitalised Caz?
Just looks like proper nouns to me e.g the name of the show and comp.

oh and ‘Pastoral’

pink lady/Kim – why do you Capitalise random Words?

Boy oh boy… ;-D

Another “pink lady” spoof.

We’re very curious what action “Mr. Harriden” could possibly be contemplating and eagerly await it.

Once you out your information, you can’t pick and choose who to take it back from.

Wishful thinking Harriden.

I’d also comment positively on Leah and if Mr. Harriden wants to make a goose out of himself, let him do so…

You may be able to have the image removed, but I seriously doubt that you can prevent these comments from appearing online. What was that ideal again? Free speech? Oh yeah… that’s right.

The Prestigious Showgirl Competition is conducted throughout NSW at some 116 agricultural and Pastoral shows and is one of the many highlighted events conducted at the Sydney Royal Easter Show. The comments some postive are welcomed and appreciated, others are not. We request that the image and comments be removed from this site within 24hrs. Action Pending

President Mr Michael Harriden

Good spot andrewbt.
Let us join the dots here :
– Family show connection secures Qbn Showgirl title
– Total rural setting
– Caravans in the background
– Confederate flag can be seen
– Squinting eyes (suggests drug usage)

Im no sherlock holmes, you do the math.

WTF? Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder…. Happy New Year.

i’m intrigued that this item gets 7 comments (and I agree with LG’s comment), while the one on 2 homes burning down gets only one comment so far. Signficance of the Confederate flag, probably watch reruns of the Dukes of Hazard 🙂

Is anyone else concerned by the confederate flag waving in the background?

I really don’t know what else it signifies apart from being a Redneck, or the KKK.

Good to see she’s not a toothpick/waif/needs-a-sammich gal… real women have curves!
