The War Memorial has announced that they’re starting construction of a re-vamped Eastern Precinct:

The project, to be carried out by PBS Building, will restore the current temporary carpark to a landscaped environment, provide an underground carpark for almost 200 cars, improve bus parking and access for schools, provide a new café facility and incorporate the National Service memorial.

While the work is under way the Outpost Cafe will be closed and there will be some changes to parking arrangements. They plan, as always, to get it all done by next Anzac Day.

Perhaps we should enshrine a new day for the commemoration of prisoners… perhaps then the gaol could get things done by THAT day.
