In the Courier Mail this morning there was an article on Todd Carney, with the Tigers keen to Sign him for 2010 season….

Although it looks like his work permit to play in the UK is taking a while, and it seems things are getting a bit tense if he’s even going to be granted one, as there’s talk on an earlier return to the NRL. Granted the Raiders had to sack him, and the NRL de-registering him for refusing the No Alcohol Policy, if the NRL allow him to play next season this is going to send bad signals to other players that they can get away with ‘bad behaviour’ and what with Carney and Benji in the halfes this could come back and bite the Raiders hard.

With Orford coming off contract at Manly, I’d of thought they’d of been the first club to show interest.

2604 – are you serious?? despite his off field activities, Todd is an awesome player and the Raiders will suffer with their stupid decision…

Who can tell what’s going on with other clubs? All I care about is:

1. Carney is no longer a Raider, eating up our salary cap and trashing the club’s reputation.
2. We have a more than adequate replacement, in Marc Herbert.

I can only really think that his delays relate to his charactor assesment by UK bureaucrats and they are viewing him as a possible danger to English society, there must be now real doubts whether he will be allowed into England.

Ah yes, this is the same British society which gave the world The Sex Pistols and the National Front.
