Territory and Municipal Services are letting people know they’re about to drop the pines getting in the way of Canberra’s next mega-road:

As part of preparations for the Majura Parkway construction project, work will soon commence to remove sections of pine plantation in the Majura Valley region, Tony Gill, Director, Roads ACT, said today.

Work is planned to commence on Monday 23 July 2012 and is expected to take two to three weeks to complete (weather permitting).

“Territory and Municipal Services (TAMS) is utilising existing timber harvesting contractors to clear 12 hectares of the pine plantation in preparation for the Majura Parkway project,” Mr Gill said.

Woo! Hurry up, get the trucks off Majura Rd.

Does anyone know when they’re going to join up the two ends of Horse Park Dr?
