ACT Policing is investigating an incident that occurred at Meche nightclub early yesterday morning (Sunday July 21).

Around 3.40am yesterday, police were called to a report of an unconscious man within the club. ACT Ambulance Service attended and a 27-year-old man was taken to The Canberra Hospital for medical treatment.

ACT Policing are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Acting Sergeant Adam Rhynehart from ACT Policing Criminal Investigations said that at the time of the incident the club was full of patrons.

“Due to the amount of patrons inside the club at the time, we believe that a number of people saw something.

“What people saw is important for the investigation, and we are still trying to piece the puzzle together to try and find out what took place to leave a man hospitalised,” Acting Sergeant Rhynehart said.

ACT Policing urge anyone who witnessed the incident, or has any information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
