As we get more excited about the opening of the Centenary Trail, TAMS are putting forth word on their “Try The Trail” day:

The time has almost come for the official opening of the long-awaited Canberra Centenary Trail.

From 10 am to 2 pm on Sunday 27 October 2013, a ‘Try the Trail Day’ will be held at five different locations along the alignment – Hall School Museum, Victoria Street Hall, John Knight Memorial Park in Belconnen, Chapman near Cooleman Ridge, Tuggeranong Town Park and Remembrance Park in Campbell.

Come along with the family and friends to explore the trail on its opening weekend. People can join a guided walk led by ACT Scouts and purchase some lunch from a Rotary Club stall.

Event partner, ACT Medicare Local, will also be providing a free trail map and fresh fruit to all participants on the day.

The ‘Try the Trail Day’ will be a great way to celebrate the official opening of this special project as part of Canberra’s Centenary year.

Was out at the opening this morning (slightly by accident).

Little Ferret got to join CM in cutting the ribbon and hasn’t stopped raving about being famous after being in a couple of TAMS tweets.

Decided to have a look and took out the old mountain bike today. Other than a couple of nasty magpies at Forde and Hall, it was a great couple of hours. There are some very steep bits where this fat old bloke had to get off and walk the bike, but a really enjoyable hour and a 20 minutes ish from Forde to Hall.
