2012 ACT TERRITORY CONFERENCE: UN Youth ACT invites local students to participate in the 2012 ACT Territory Conference. The conference is a 3-day residential event. It is open to students in years 9 to 12 from the ACT and surrounding NSW schools. The conference provides a fantastic introduction to global diplomacy and the inner workings of the United Nations, the world’s peak governing body. The ACT Government will support two (2) students from every public high school/college to attend. March 23-25, Greenhills Conference Centre (down the Cotter Road in Weston Creek). For further information visithttp://act.unyouth.org.au/territory2012/index.php or email actconferences@unyouth.org.au.

This year speakers include Ramesh Thakur (former Assistant Secretary General of the UN), Caroline Millar (Head of the Australian UN Security Council Taskforce), and participating groups include Poetry Australia, Australian Red Cross, AusAID, and UNHCR.

Spread the word to anyone you may know in years 9-12 at school!
