Today Unearthed Review rocks out with the appallingly named “Andy n The Roys”.

There are over 700 Canberra bands with tracks on the TripleJUnearthed website. In 2011 we’re going to explore them. (Previous reviews are available)

Today’s random selection is And n The Roys who describe themselves in these terms:

The Roys formed in 1994 from members of Canberra bands YMI and Raising Cain. The three piece played various venues from Tumut through to Tathra. In 2005, Andy was brought in as the lead singer with Roy (the 4th) joining not long after to add that extra guitar to the sound. The band started out playing covers with only one or two originals thrown in to a show. With the new members on board, the band has started to focus it’s attention on song writing and developing an originals set. Members have toured in America, all over Australia and over the years have played shows to thousands of people. The live performances are always full of high energy fun and nothing is ever taken too seriously. They hope to have something on CD soon and you can feel free to download these DEMO’s. If you have any comments, feel free to say hi. AnR

Strike a light! It’s like a missing Van Halen album in here.

It’s the mid eighties again and hair is long and lycra is purple!

Imagine ACDC with a lead singer who has some talent and you’ve got a feel for this stuff.

Such a pity about the name.

Five Stars .
