Chief Minister Stanhope is spruiking an art exhibition being held inside the Legislative Assembly building:

Urban-unravelling the Urban Environment’ features works in a variety of media ranging from photography to woodwork to be displayed in city until Friday 3 December 2010.

“This exhibition is a perfect example of the depth and quality of our local artists’ work,” Mr Stanhope said. “Each piece asks the viewer to reflect on the complexities of urban life and imagine the kind of environment we see for the future.

“The artists have examined a particular part of our urban scope, transforming each piece into a spectacular rendition to be enjoyed by those viewing the works.

Nine artists have worked together to deliver the exhibition: Alexander Bell Moffatt; Maria Klingner; Kristen Leydon; Dianne Libke; Frank Maconochie; Stephanie Parker; Merrilyn Sernack; Ingrid Singh; and Catherine Winter.

It’s on until 3 December.
