This one’s drifted across my desk and I though it sounded like fun. From the blurb:

Music For Everyone announces a new program of classical PERCUSSION tuition for youth and adults, beginner to advanced levels. This new program will focus on the percussion instruments played in bands and orchestra: snare drum, timpani, marimba, xylophone and all the other bits and pieces you bang & clang!

Participants in this new program will develop their percussion skills in a supportive and enjoyable environment, with a broad range of percussion instruments provided in the classroom. The program will cover the essentials of percussion: music-reading and rhythm skills, techniques for playing the different instruments, and building repertoire.

The Percussion program starts off in Term 3, with tuition available on Wednesdays at the Ainslie Arts Centre, Elouera St Braddon. A group class for youth aged 10-13 years is scheduled on Wednesdays 4.15-5.00pm, plus individual tuition is also available for youth and adults of all skill levels, from beginner to advanced. Contact the MFE office now on 6230 7190 if you are interested in this new program.
