Waramanga bicycle bag snatcher

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a robbery in Waramanga that occurred yesterday morning (November 7).

Around 6.30am, a 55-year-old woman was walking along the bicycle path adjacent to Nemarang Crescent, towards the Waramanga shops, when she was approached from behind by a man riding a bicycle.

The man grabbed the woman’s handbag causing her to fall to the ground and continued to ride off with the handbag towards the ovals behind the Waramanga shops.

The woman’s handbag contained a sum of cash, purse and other personal belongings. She sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident.

The man is described as aged in his twenties, with a thin build and of average height. He has dark skin and short dark-coloured hair. He was wearing a dark-coloured baseball cap with a large peak, black shirt with green writing on the sleeve and dark-coloured pants.
