Want to know where you can walk in Watson with your dog or, if you don’t have a dog, just enjoy a very pleasant stroll through this lovely, old Canberra suburb?

We’ve just researched an enjoyable, fairly flat, 40-45 minute walk through Watson’s pretty parks, that are currently showing off some stunning autumn colour.

The walk starts and ends at the Watson shops, takes a circular route through a series of interconnecting parks, and includes several designated off leash areas if you are walking with your dog.

If you’re walking with children, there are two playgrounds on the route and a large, well tended oval perfect for kicking around a ball at the beginning and end of the walk.

If you’re feeling particularly energetic, and don’t have a dog with you, there’s the option of a detour into the 5 hectare Justice Robert Hope Park at the base of Mount Majura.

And after all that walking, you can revive at one of the several eateries at the Watson shops, which include a cafe/bar, a bistro and a takeaway joint – all with outdoor tables.

Free walking directions with links to a google map illustrating the route are at www.canberradogwalks.com.au/watson-walk. Enjoy!
