After all the sun we’ve had, a bit of a rainy weekend won’t be so bad (I’ll keep telling myself that). In preparation, we’ve got a few things around town where you should keep dry-ish.

From our team:

Heather Lansdowne is heading for Portabello Road @ Old Bus Depot Markets, Sunday 17th August. She also suggests St Ninian’s Church Clothes sale for some great bargains on Saturday 16th August.

Josh Mulrine is in for a massive weekend at Meche with Indian Summer on Friday 15th and Peking Duck Saturday 16th

John Lombard is off to the Questacon Sci Night (for grown ups) – Friday 15th 6-10pm

Emily Morris is going to check out the new exhibition at Nishi Gallery – Offline, New Acton opens 15th August, runs to 31st August.

Antony Perry is going to the Canberra Raiders Cup minor semi-final between Goulburn Workers Bulldogs and West Belconnen Warriors on Sunday afternoon 17th August. Kick-off is at 3.00pm at Workers Arena in Goulburn.

A couple of other events that might take your fancy:

Live music with Busby Marou @ ANU Bar Friday 15th August

Midnight Screening of the Rocky Horror Show at Limelight Cinemas – Friday 15th August

World Music Joseph Tawadros @ The Street, Saturday 16th at 8pm

Cooking with truffles workshop – Saturday 16th August 10am – 2pm

Canberra Roller Derby – Saturday 16th August 4pm two game feature

ACT Wildcard Pinball Tournament Saturday 16th August 6pm

ACT Regional Cheerleading competition Sunday 17th August 9-5pm
