Where is the King of Swing?

Canberräng, the capital city’s annual festival of swing dancing, is returning bigger and better than ever in 2015 – more bands, more dancing and more excitement!

Over four nights from 30 July to 2 August, Canberräng attracts dancers from across Australia and abroad. Along with social swing dancing, Canberräng features local and interstate musicians, performances, balls and more, all held in some of Canberra’s best venues.

This year’s theme centres around the mysterious King of Swing, and the golden age of swing in 1930s Manhattan. So pull on your best dancing shoes, your notebook, and come and help us find out… WHERE IS THE KING OF SWING?

Across the Canberräng festival we dance all over Canberra. You can come along and watch us dance at Garema Place from 11-12am on Saturday 1 August, or at the beautiful Kingston Bus Depot markets on Sunday 2 August at the same time. Feel free to join in if you know a little swing dancing!

The Winter Swing Ball at Old Parliament House

Held at the glorious Old Parliament House on Friday 31 July, from 7:30pm onwards, our Winter Swing Ball is the highlight of the Canberräng festival.
