This surprises me on many levels.
It’s one thing to name an establishment for the street it is on. Quite another to take that name to the next premises with no connection to the name.
I will concede that Emu Bank doesn’t have quite the same ring to it.
TC25 has sent in the above picture with this note:
At the new London Burgers and Beers in Belconnen, aparently you can pick yourself up a Desert too.
Got an image of Canberra you want to share with the world? Email it in to images@the-riotact.com .
But what does the desert own? Answers on a postcard please.
Don’t you dare grab a “Beer & Burger Combo” though: it belong’s to the Desert

I’m not sure if this is satire or irony.
wow…how tacky does that look with all the pics plastered on the windows and the incorrect spelling AND grammar?
i wonder how long they will take to fix it…RA certainly managed to take down the video game post-its within a few hours
this does explain why the london was closed all last week – now we can enjoy mediocre burgers in 2 locations – hooray!
You’re all gonna feel so silly when Mr Desert turns up and endorses that combo.

I’m very much hoping it’s satire, if so it’s a good one. WHAT is with so many of the population having such profound ignorance of spelling, grammar and punctuation? And I wonder how they decide which words ending with an s will get an apostrophe, and which won’t?
(carefully checks above poast before hitting “submit”).

or Ms Desert. let’s be equal opportunists for who owns the burger combo

You want vegemite or jam on that poast?

The “Submit” button spells ‘submit’ with a capital ‘S’. Sorry, but if we’re getting pedantic.
Oh dear.
So many levels of dumb. The one that does my head in is how desert gets an apostrophe but burger doesn’t. How on earth does that decision get made?
And pictures of food stuck all over the windows just screams “late night service-station quality food”. To me.
At least this galloping dumbness saves me having to think about whether or not I’ll try the place out.
Are they sponsored by Peugeot?

None of you were ever on Usenet/Newsgroups then? Sigh. I was being slightly witty.
I don’t know about Emu Bank not being a good place to establish a burger restaurant. Maybe Grill’d will be opening there judging by this story today:

I think I’ve managed to get around their stupid firewall. If not, Google Grill’d kangaroo emu burger and smash down the firewall that way.
