The ABC reports that the ACT Government is looking for someone to build and operate a recycling facility for commercial waste:

Late last year the Government announced plans for a recycling plant for commercial waste, as part of new goal of reducing the amount of rubbish going into landfill by 90 per cent within 15 years.

It is now calling for proposals from those interested in building and running the facility which will be located in Hume.

The Government says taxpayers will not be out of pocket, as the proponents will have to build the facility at their expense and cover all major infrastructure costs.

It’ll be intriguing to see if we really can get a free lunch here.
