Canberra Arts Marketing informs that we have until 21 July to nominate subjects for the cover of the 2009/10 yellow and white pages.

Apparently the theme is “Arts in the Community”.

Recommended subject/s must have a significant involvement in the arts and your local community in one or many ways such as – driving tourism to the area, or building community relationships, helping inspire an appreciation of the Arts in younger generations, providing access to the Arts or culture to those who might not have it otherwise, or perhaps incorporating environmental awareness into artistic projects.

Apparently to nominate you just have to send a paragraph of your thoughts to: michael.bernard@che.com.au

So who gets your vote?

Anyone notice that the person on the cover of the current whitepages bears a scary resemblance to Pauline Hanson?

YES! I’ve lften wondered “why”? (did they choose her, and who is she?).

They should put mark Carmody on the cover.

If it is about involving young people in art and getting the wider community interested surely it must be Bill Henson?

I think he’s from Victoria, is that local enough?

Well obviously it needs to be a firework manufacturer and a porn star.

Local graffiti artist

Well I hope you sent the nomination email in then.

I vote for Johnboy, for providing culture to those who might otherwise not have had it.

Or whoever designed the pile of girders beside the GDE, for “bringing environmental awareness into artistic projects”.

Oh c’mon,

It’s got to be the most public exposure anyone bar the chief minister is going to get.

GET A LIFE!!!
