Witnesses sought to copper theft

ACT Policing is investigating the theft of copper fibre optic cables from Campbell yesterday (25 August).

Between 3pm on Friday (22 August) and 10.30am yesterday, two 40m lengths of Huber Suhner copper fibre optic cable and two 30m Andrew Heliax copper feeder cable (copper cable with Styrofoam) were taken.

The items, valued at approximately $25,000, were stolen from a worksite on the corner of Morsehead Drive and Staff Cadet Avenue (lakeside).

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the theft to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.

Construction workers are urged to be vigilant by keeping an eye out for suspicious activity and always securing valuables with fencing.
