Witnesses wanted for Monash fires

ACT Policing is investigating a suspicious fire that extensively damaged a house in Monash this morning (Wednesday, July 10).

About 4.45am ACT Fire & Rescue notified police they were in attendance at the Griffin Place residence. Police officers attended to find the house well alight.

There were no people inside the residence at the time of the fire. Early estimates from ACT Fire & Rescue value the damage at around $300,000.

The fire was extinguished, and the scene handed to ACT Policing Criminal Investigations.

About 9.20pm last night, emergency services also attended a fence fire at the rear of the residence. The fence sustained minor damage. No one was injured as a result of this fire.
