I recently Purchased a Yamaha xvs650 classic, and It seems there is no owners club in canberra .

If you or someone you know rides a Yamaha cruiser and is interested in starting a club or just the occasional ride then id love to hear from you .

Be grateful that you weren’t tarred and feathered…

Mate, try Peter or Robyn Major from the ACT MRA – they’d be happy to assist http://mraact.org.au/contact-us

Hey, I’d help if I could (love good food in any style), but I neither own a twin nor know how to work on one. Flipant coments don’t mean someone won’t help if they can.

Ahhh the stories I could tell about my days on the “yamaharley” or “yamahardly”. Gave up when I found out it was the preferred conveyance of this mob: http://www.dykesonbikessydney.org.au/

Id love to meet someone who owns the same bike as me has a knowledge of the v twin engine so i can possibly learn how work on my bike and get some advice. Im a chef and ive been cooking french food full time now for 4 years now so id be happy to return the favour by cooking for you and your partner .

I need someone who knows about triumph triples, but I can’t cook French food. I can however BBQ meat and chill beer.

Well there’s no Finsbury air compressor club in Canberra either, why is that? Come to think of it, there’s no 12 volt Supercheap auto tyre inflating club either, WHAT’S GOING ON!!!!!!

There’s a Ford Falcon owners club, it’s called the Alexander Maconochie Centre.

Five will get you fifty, Jim, that there’s a lot more Commodore owners in there than Falcon ones!

Drivers maybe, but just cause you can steal a VN commodore doesn’t make you special.

I loved my Dragstar 650 Classic. Black and mushroom, fat tyres, cool retro style, great sound without killing my ears (punched the baffles *just* right), and the shaft drive made such a difference keeping the bike clean and maintenance free (well if you don’t include polishing the acres of chrome…). Good torque too although I’d probably go the 1100 next time.

And being a cruiser, car drivers stay right the hell away from you, as opposed to the near total lack of respect for your bubble that you get on a sports bike.

Life just seems more relaxed on a cruiser.

Hi Jeremy,

There are various motorbike groups in Canberra.
Check out Canberra Riders. It is a vast group of dirt, sportsbike and crusier riders, including a few with your beloved Yamaha cruisers.

So you only want to ride with your own kind? motobigot! 🙂
