Yet another mulch fire at Parkwood

ACT Fire & Rescue and ACT Rural Fire Service are currently responding to a mulch fire at Parkwood Road, Recycling Circuit, Belconnen.

One pumper, two Compressed Air Fire Units (CAFS) and four tankers are on scene.

Update to follow.

3:29 PM

Firefighters are using Compressed Air Foam System (CAFS) to knock the fire down.

The fire is approximately 100 square metres in size.

One fire pumper, two Compressed Air Foam System (CAFS) tankers and a Commander are on scene working to extinguish the mulch fire.

Time of Emergency Triple Zero (000) call 2:52pm.

3:56 PM

The fire is now contained and under control.

Two Compressed Air Foam System (CAFS) tankers, two ACTRFS tankers, an ACTRFS Group Officer and an ACTF&R Commander are currently on scene.

Crews will remain on site dampening down the mulch pile for the next hour.
