Yum Cha

We’re keen to try out some yum cha!

We’re after something with a mix of lovely steamed and fried dumplings along with the usual yum cha type morsels. Reviews on places around Canberra seem mixed and we’d rather write a good review than a bad one!

Any recommendations on where to go?

The The Scholar Dickson is by far the best, and i have been to a few. Get there 11:30am Sat and enjoy the afternoon!

Is that an independent opinion or an influenced one?

Top Taste Seafood in Woden (formerly Noble Palace) is always good.

Prince’s Palace Belconnen, down by the lake on a Sunday.. Yummy !

Although I have to admit it’s been awhile since I’ve been there.

The Dumpling Inn in Jamison is excellent as is Quan’s Kitchen in Kippax, Prince’s Palace has had some enforced holidays and their food is just ok. The Scholar is always good but the Dumpling Inn has a few more interesting and authentic choices.

I noted after a couple of nights staying in Kingston due to home renos that both Madam Woo and China Plate were advertising Yum Cha. Might be worth a try.

i’d assume independent from what i’ve had of yum cha here. quite good, and sage advice to be early.
