Just a quick announcement that as part of launching Zierholz in its first Belconnen venue at the Canberra Labor Club on Chandler Street I’ll be doing a meet and greet the brewer promo tomorrow (Thursday 26th March) between 17:30 and 18:30 so why not come along and try some of Canberra’s finest?

By the by we’ve had a number of new venues come on board recently (see http://www.zierholz.com.au/) so if you enjoy the beer you may be pleasantly surprised to find it nearer and nearer to home.

Other new developments are the likelyhood of a bottling plant being installed in the coming months (negotiations are ongoing, fingers crossed) and that we’ll be putting the first batch of Gundaroo Cider Company’s cider on tap at our restaurant very soon.

Look forward to seeing some of you tomorrow.

Cheers and beers.

While it’s great to see Zierholz on tap in local establishments, I was disappointed last night at the Belconnen Labor Club. The barmen were complaining that the German Ale was coming out too fast and they were wasting as much as made it into the glass.

The few glasses I had were served by the same barman and each schooner was nigh on perfect with no wastage while being pulled. Seems to me it was a matter of staff skill or reflexes…

wank wank wank

Oops. Just had a call from the Labor club and a couple of their managers are away sick today so the offical launch is to be postponed till next week.

But seeing the beer is already on tap anyhow and I have to take some more across this arvo I might go and have one anyways just in case some of you have made definite plans to go. Should really check that it tastes ok being put through their system anyhow.

That’s actually good news for this little black duck, Christoph. I just read about this (mea culpa) and have prior engagements, so will look forward to attending next week.

I’ve actually chatted to your staff (maybe you too?) when I’ve been out at Fyshwick for Hash House Harrier runs — coincidentally, I’m wearing my WACT/Zierholz shirt as I type — and floated the idea of MC-ing functions out there.

Happy to chat with you at some stage if you’re still interested.

I, for one, welcome our new apple-juice-fermenting overlords!

Woohoo! Zierholz in Belconnen!! Any word on what beers will be on tap??

This Belco boy is very happy – will have to personally visit to ensure the quality is up to standard 😉

Thanks, I don’t mind the a drop of the Dunkel myself…:-)

I’ve dropped a product guide into the Maram a little while back but haven’t had a chance to go back yet and meet the manager – will put it on my to do list for next week…

The cidery in Gundaroo has been a work in progress for a while. They use 100% apple juice (using Australian apples grown near Orange) and the samples I’ve had were very good indeed, even if I am more of a beer man myself funnily enough.

As we’ve had a thriving local wine industry for a while it’s like all boxes can be ticked soon so come earth hour you can sit in the dark and have whichever of your favourite tipple you prefer knowing that your minimising your carbon footprint and caring for the environment…

Good to see.

WHAT CIDER! WHEN???

I’d love to see Zierholz at The Maram, any traction there?

Awesome news, particularly the pending bottling plant.

Also please consider adding the dunkelweizen to your permanent lineup. That stuff is heaven in a glass.
