12 July Cabinet Outcomes

The Chief Minister’s website has published the outcomes from the 12 July meeting. Here are the interesting ones:

Direct Sale to French Australian Preschool Association Incorporated

Cabinet agreed a direct sale of a lease to the French Australian Preschool Association to accommodate growing demand for enrolments. Discussions were had regarding the contribution of the preschool to parking.

Appointments

Cabinet agreed the following appointments:

Ms Mandy Green as the Employer Representative Member, and Mr Neville Betts as the Employees Representative Acting Member to the Work Safety Council, until 13 September 2013.

Mr Michael Chilcott as a part time judicial member and Deputy Chair of the Sentence Administration Board for a period of three years along with the Senior Manager, Community Based Corrections as a part-time non-judicial member.

Ms Christine Macauley, Mr Bruce Cooper, Mr Christopher Peters AM, Ms Agata Pukiewicz and Mr Dara McDaniel as part time members to the Fair Trading Advisory Committee until 18 July 2014.

Mr Ivan Potas, part-time Official Visitor for a period of 12 months commencing 1 August 2011.

Mr Michael Peedom as chair to the ACT Local Hospital Network Council for a 12 month period, supported by Dr Rashmi Sharma, Professor Nicholas Glasgow, Ms Megan Cahill, Ms Lynette Brown, Mr John Runko, Ms Colleen Duff, Ms Darlene Cox, Ms Mary Montgomery and Mr Michael Moore as part time members for various periods of time, commencing 1 July 2011.

This is an absolutely fantastic development in opening up Government. Not a great fan of the way the Government works generally but this at least provides an opportunity for the community to inform itself of what the Government is up to. A long way ahead of their federal colleagues and all the states.
