1. Flying Fruit Circus presents Circus Under My Bed
Circus Under My Bed follows a young girl’s big imagination, discovering a make-believe circus in her room. It’s performed by 9 to 19-year-old artists of Australia’s world famous national youth circus, and is said to be an Australian stage experience like no other. Catch it at the Canberra Theatre Centre until Saturday afternoon. More info.

2. RAW Canberra presents GLIMPSE at Belconnen Arts Centre
This Friday night, GLIMPSE will bring together 30 local emerging artists spanning fashion, music, visual and performing arts and music. It’s the fourth of six emerging arts showcases to be run by RAW Canberra in 2015. More info.

3. World Curry Festival, take two
We have our fingers crossed for better weather this weekend, after last weekend’s World Curry Festival in the City was rescheduled due to a small weather phenomenon meteorologists dubbed the Antarctic vortex. The rescheduled festival will run on both Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 July 2015. More info.

4. Canberra Raiders vs. Cronulla Sharks
See the Raiders play the Sharks in round 19 of the competition this Saturday 18 July at GIO Stadium. Nothing beats being part of the crowd at a live rugby league match, especially when the raiders are playing on their own turf. More info and tickets.

5. Damien Leith at the Street Theatre
Damien Leith is bringing his show ‘The Parting Glass – An Irish Journey’ to the Street Theatre this Saturday. The show incorporates both a play and a musical concert of classic Irish songs and is set in an Irish pub. More info.

6. Make-A-Wish winter wonderland gala dinner
The Canberra branch of Make-A-Wish will present a winter wonderland gala dinner this Saturday night at the Hellenic Club. Funds raised will be used to grant wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions. More info.

7. Free screening of Paper Planes at the National Portrait Gallery
Head to the National Portrait Gallery this Saturday 18 July for a free screening of Australian children’s flick Paper Planes, followed by 20 minutes of paper plane folding. Bookings are not required.

8. Canberra rally against racism
There are two rallies scheduled for this weekend. The first is a Reclaim Australia march, which is definitely worth attending if you’re a bigoted, misinformed racist (sorry, not sorry). The second is a counter-rally organised by the Canberra Anti-Racism Network to show that Reclaim Australia’s ugly and hateful attitudes towards other races and cultures aren’t acceptable. The counter-rally will meet at the west side of Questacon (facing the National Library) at 11am on Sunday 19 March. More info.

9. Three Sixty Fashion Market at the Fitters Workshop in Kingston
Three Sixty Fashion Market is a niche Canberra market dedicated to sustainable fashion. All items sold are genuine secondhand vintage, retro or preloved fashion. Snap up some warm winter gear this Sunday from 10am to 3pm. More info.

10. CBR Brave vs. Sydney Bears
Following a midseason change to CBR Brave’s coaching line up (Josh Unice will be interim head coach for the remainder of the 2015 season, while Aaron Clayworth has moved to an assistant coaching role), it will be interesting to see how this weekend’s home game against the Sydney Bears goes down. It’s on Saturday at 5.30pm. More info.

11. Free Spirit exhibition opening
Antoinette Karsten’s Free Spirit exhibition will officially open this Saturday 18 July at 2.30pm at Tuggeranong Arts Centre. Free Spirit is a mixed media celebration of life joys and continues until 8 August 2015. More info.

12. Pre-audition workshops for 2016 circus degree
If you’ve ever considered joining the circus but also value a university education, here’s an event for you. The National Institute of Circus Arts offers Australia’s only Bachelor of Circus Arts degree. Ahead of its 2016 course intake auditions, it is holding a pre-audition circus workshop at Warehouse Circus this Saturday 18 July. More info.

13. A Pooch Affair at EPIC
This boutique indoor event is Canberra’s newest event for dog lovers. There will be an indoor cafe for pet owners to dine with their dogs, as well as retail catering for humans. An elegant high tea with dogs is on offer for those wishing to dine with their pup in style. There will also be a doggie mall and a pug play date. It’s on Saturday from 10am to 4pm. More info.

14. Afternoon delight at Aviary Rooftop
Bringing you Canberra’s finest techno and house producers and DJs, Afternoon Delight will tantalise the senses with smooth tunes set to stunning sunset views over Lake Burley Griffin. Doors open at 4pm on Saturday. Tickets are $5 before 6pm or $10 afterwards. More info.

15. Dance through time – Subsdance midyear dance show
Get whisked back in time to the roots of Latin, Brazilian, Caribbean and Afro dance at Subsdance’s midyear dance show. Students, instructors and special guests will tell the tale of the evolution of dance through dance, song and traditional costumes. It’s on Saturday from 7pm at Subsdance Dance Studio. More info.

A Pooch Affair is going to be tonnes of fun tomorrow. If you love dogs…. it’s a MUST! If you own a Pug {like me}, see you at 11am for Pug Hour. RSPCA has loaned us their trick yard!

Gold Creek Markets out at Nicholls. My friends said its good if the weather is fine.
