1. Co-lab: Science meets street art at Westside
Come to Westside Acton Park this Saturday from 10am to 6pm to see what happens when science meets street art. Co-lab is a creative collaboration between Canberran street artists and early career scientists. Five local street artists have paired up with five PhD Science students from ANU to take inspiration from their research, discoveries and concepts integral to their field. More info.

2. Craft ACT artist-in-residence open day at Namadgi National Park
Lovers of art and the great outdoors, this one’s for you. Meet Craft ACT’s 2015 artists-in-residence for an insight into their art and the influence of nature on their work at Gudgenby Ready-Cut Cottage in the Namadgi National Park this Saturday 19 September. It’s on from 9am to 2pm. More info.

Scrabble ACT, the National Library of Australia and Libraries ACT invite you to participate in a Scrabble competition this Saturday from 11am to 2pm. The first rounds are held in public libraries throughout September, with the grand final round to be held at the National Library next month. Open to competitors aged 8 years and over. More info.

You can’t teach your cat about safe sex, but you can help support low income families desex their feline friends. Canberra Cat Fix is run by RiotACT’s Alexandra Craig, and it’s hosting a trivia night this Friday from 7pm at the Woden Tradies. Tickets are $30. More info.

50 years of ANU school of music

9. Celebrate 50 years of the ANU School of Music
ANU’s School of Music celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. To mark the occasion it is hosting several free performances and exhibitions this Sunday from 1pm. Head to Llewellyn Hall, the ANU Courtyard Stage, the ANU School of Music foyer and ANU Cafe to catch the action. More info.

11. Lifeline Canberra’s biggest ever bookfair
With over 120 tonnes of books, CDs, DVDs, comics, puzzles, games and more, there’s something for everyone at this weekend’s Lifeline Canberra bookfair. It’s on all weekend at Budawang Pavilion at EPIC, and if you head down on Saturday there will be a jumping castle, face painting and balloon modelling for the kids. Read more.

Admission Fee Prices:

$5.00 Adult.
$2.00 Concession and Children under 16 (Identification must be shown).

If you are driving, parking officers will be active in the area during the event and drivers are reminded to park legally.
