Last Friday Duffymum submitted a post inquiring if anyone knew the reason behind several jets flying low over her house. It being a busy day and there not being much to it I decided not to publish it. More fool me. If I had I’m sure someone would have pointed out that it was in honour of former Defence Chief General John Baker whose funeral was being held at St Christopher’s Cathedral in Manuka and that it included four F/A-18 Hornet aircraft from No 3 Squadron conducting a fly past in the ‘missing man’ formation.

The Department of Defence has this comprehensive coverage of the funeral including excerpts from the eulogies and photographs.

It counts as training hours which we’d be paying for anyway.

Although I love watching fast movers, I couldn’t see them here either.
BUT, is such an extraordinary expenditure really justifable?

so it wasn’t a terrorist attack the media forgot to report? lol
It was mentioned on the news a couple of days before and notices were put in the newspapers in the days preceding it happen anyway..

I could hear them but unfortunately couldn’t see them from the building I was in
