Local artist Sarah Firth has just posted this on Vimeo and I thought it was a bit of fun and worth sharing.

She drew it frame by frame using a wacom drawing tablet direct into the computer.

She posted it with the following note:

The weather has been jumping from hot 40C to cool 19C and I ended up getting a cold. So I thought while I was lying around that I’d make a little animation about blowing my nose. There isn’t much of a story to this, I just wanted to focus on capturing movement. I’ve always liked the Japanese term hana mizu, which from what I understand literally means nose rain/water. Which I think is a nice way of describing my snotty, runny nose!

I dunno Al, Sarah’s plenty pretty too.

Except when that eye flares towards the end and she looks like gollum….

Clever. Love to have a Wacom tablet. I have an old copy of Fractal Painter, which is supposed to work very well with a stylus.
Have you noticed she looks like Marianne Mettes??
