A new exhibit at CMAG is throwing everything we know about how museums work out the window and is planning to show us artefacts from the future.

I suspect they may be fake.

The new exhibit will be open from the 13th of July to the 3rd November and you should absolutely go for a great many reasons.*

Museums usually tell of real events, places and people. 2113: A Canberra Odyssey stretches the envelope to explore scenarios of how Canberra might be in 2113 – its’ bicentennial year. It reflects on time, place and identity through the interplay of art, science and historical material.

2113: A Canberra odyssey is supported by the Australian Capital Territory Land Development Agency and The Village Building Corporation.

A vibrant place in the heart of the city, Canberra Museum and Gallery celebrates the region’s social history and visual arts with dynamic exhibitions and unique programs and events.

*Such as: CMAG is wonderful, conveniently located, free, and trying something new. There you go, four really good reasons.

My least favourite word thing appears in that quoted description: its’. There is no such word as its’, hence ‘word thing’. It is an excrescence.

If that is a word from 2113, I want no part in the future.
