Junkies aren’t capable of thinking about anything other than the amount of heroin they can get from that handbag though. They choose to live this way. I hate junkies.

Top disguise!Perhaps he thought he was Red Riding hood on his bike riding boldly down Canberra Ave.

In a worst case scenario if an elderly person falls during a mugging they can suffer broken bones and have a long rehabilitation and NEVER get all their former physical abilities and independence back, so I wish the courts would charge people who do it with something appropriate, it shouldn’t be seen as just bag snatching but as attempted grievous bodily harm or something even if the victim manages not to fall or be hurt.

The same result could occur with a young “fit” male, i don’t see why aged victims should invoke a higher punishment. ANY mugging that involves violence should be treated as GBH

Yes. I was thinking I must come back and add it’s not good for anyone to be injured during a mugging, a younger person might recover more quickly and completely but needing treatment and time off work and other possible consequences are still a problem. I suppose I am just astounded that there are scum who can’t imagine that having a physical struggle with someone like their mum or grandma could have serious consequences, or they just don’t care. Really, any time someone places a higher priority on obtaining some item they have no right to over the physical welfare of another person, even if somehow that other person fortunately comes through unscathed, the law should treat it seriously.

Not everyone who lives in Stuart Flats is scum.
I’m sure our politicians who are busy mugging the system don’t live there.

There are a lot of security cameras in Franklin Street that also capture some street footage. Takes a very brave or clever thief to gamble that he is not on camera. Even some locals have been caught out doing stupid things and providing their neighbours with hilarious footage.

These days CCTV is not really seen as a deterrent, if it was there would be no shows like world’s dumbest crooks etc.
