I know quite a few poets. They are a poor and miserable people. This might make them feel better.

Get to it poets, fight for your meals and our amusement!

Canberra’s aspiring poets are encouraged to nominate for the 2013 ACT Poetry Prize, with $5000 in prizes up for grabs.

ACT Arts Minister Joy Burch said the awards recognise outstanding single poems by ACTbased poets. The winning entry to this year’s competition will attract a prize of $3,000 while two short-listed poems will be awarded $1,000 each.

“Poems can be up to 28 lines in length and are assessed ‘blind’ meaning that entries must not include the name of the poet in the section of the application form reserved for the poem,” Ms Burch said.

“Creative writing has a proud tradition in Canberra and competitions such as the ACT Poetry Prize help ensure that these talents continue to flourish in the Territory.”

For those who may have missed it, ‘It’s you density’ (correct spelling) is a quote from Back to the future.
Kinda like one of my other favourite quotes:’You don’t have to be a rocket surgeon’! Hahaha!

Now I feel almost silly. I’m going back in my DeLorean to moderate my own comment. I will leave ED’s up though.

There are so many wonderful poets in Canberra, of all densities, and they all deserve the prize.

Batter up, Poetix! $5k coming your way! It’s your density…! 😉

I’ve always thought low density poets had the inside running!
