Territory and Municipal Services are letting it be known that the floral billboard at the end of Northbourne Avenue is going to be spruiking Floriade:

A new floral display containing 6000 pansies will today be planted on City Hill to highlight the forthcoming Floriade.

Floriade runs from Saturday 15 September to Sunday 14 October 2012.

“The new flower display on City Hill will spell out the word ‘FLORIADE’ to highlight the fact Australia’s premier floral display is returning,” said Andrew Forster, Floriade Head Gardener.

This glorious headline, along with the article on the possible Clyde Rathbone comeback, sets up the glorious prospect of seeing AAC running headlong at Clyde’s unforgiving shoulder next season. Please let it happen.

No Tom Carter’s either. What sort of pansies are these?
