A LA Carte….Kennys in Dickson all the way. Amazing value & really crunchy, not soggy…eeeewwwww! Also noticed them at the HUB @ Gungalhin in the freezer section near the frozen fish. When in Sydney try Bushari @ pottspoint for their spider rolls, a kind of crab nori roll. Amazing!

Ming’s Restaurant at Phillip sells them too, deep-fried with lemongrass or with chilli (IIRC). Delicious if done properly, but they don’t always drain them enough so a couple of times they have been way too oily for me – ask them to make sure they drain them very thoroughly, or if you order takeway/delivery, throw a paper towel in the container and shake about for a minute or so.

Flavours in Manuka often has soft shelled crabs on the specials list and Vina at Red Hill shops has them on the menu – both are good.

Go to Iori, they are simply the best!

Cape Cod in Deakin regularly have soft shelled crab on the menu. Blue Seas in Fyshwick always have them – you have to ask for them as they keep them in the freezers out the back to supply the restaurant trade.

Iori, the excellent Japanese restaurant in Civic, does them as well.

Pulp Kitchen at Ainslie shops – Soft Shell Crab bisque -MMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmm

i had them on friday night – but at kenny’s which you already mentioned, so i guess this post has no value. sorry for your time, which i have wasted.

and if you read this part, i have only wasted more of it, when you could be searching for softshell crabs, which at kenny’s as mentioned were delicious, i must say!

I’m a chef and the only place I know of that gets them in occasionally is Ocean Fresh at Fyshwick.
You could also try Blue Seas in Fyshwick.

They are fantastic to eat thats for sure.

The Peppered Prawn in Woden do really good soft shelled crabs.

Not sure if the Alaskan King Crab is technically a soft shell like in the above Wiki article. But its large leg portions are bendy and soft and very easy to get the meat out. I’ve had the Snow crab there as well which is the opposite very hard but tasty.

I’ve had the soft shell crab at Kingsleys steak and crab house in civic and it was divine. If you are asking where to buy soft shell crabs so you can cook the dish yourself at home I’d try the belconnen or fyshwick fishos at those respective markets.

For anyone who doesn’t know what is meant by soft shell crab the answer is here thanks to wiki.
