Finnegans reunion

justbands 7 July 2008 8

Just Bands has this post from Paul Sweeney (ex Liquid) about a possible reunion/Camp Quality fundraiser for Finnigans, the classic Canberra music venue in the mid/late 90’s. A fantastic idea. If you or someone you know were part of a band that played at Finnigans, please get in touch with Sweens if you’re keen to get involved.

If you’re interested in being a part of this, make sure you get hold of Sweens ASAP. It’s only going ahead if enough interest is shown.

Excellent crazyfish…make sure you get in touch with Sweens. I’ve already let him know Space Is Dead are up for it, it’d be great fun.

Thanks for posting this, DVoB are very keen to be involved. Finnigans wake was a very bitter-sweet party and I for one have missed the place badly for what it offered the Canberra music scene. I’ve got a DVD somewhere about the place of some of the footage we shot of the final party as a favour to Millsy, I’ll have to dig it out and have a gander!

My wife and I met at the closing party of Fin’s almost 10 years ago! It was an awesome place – bring it back!

From my memory, Liquid won an ‘unearthed’ comp on Triple J. They used to play a few gigs at Finnegans.

Jeez that was a cool place. I saw the owner Millsey in the Canberra Times social pages the other day. He was at a Camp Quality fundraiser. The guy deserves an OAM.

Van Halen, that is…

Is that the same ‘Liquid’ that supported Van Hlen when they played the AIS Arena circa 1997?
