Has anybody had much experience relating to the APS budget cuts the Federal Government pushed through with the last budget?

Just curious as to how the cuts have affected the lives of ACT residents over the last several months…

I think I’ve missed something Holden? What do you see in the title?

sepi – that’s exactly what happens, they do a round of cuts, the work stops because the people left, they realise the work actually needed to be done, so to make the pots of money still look they raid a different pot (typically the contractors pot) and bring the same people back (because they are the most experienced). I’ve seen this happen in many different orgs, still getting a $70K payout, a months holiday and then back on contractors rates would be alright.

That’s how it always works.

Top down commandments won’t change the dynamic of these organisations.

…That’s it I give up.

A friend got a 70- grand payout to leave her job (package).

She came back 4 weeks later as a contractor.

It gave me a slightly warm and fuzzy feeling in an otherwise atrocious budget, and flat footed Opposition response.
