The US Embassy has posted details for “A Day of Service and Remembrance” on Sunday.

We wish to remember the victims, volunteers, and first responders of September 2001 and all those who have served since.

Please join us for this twilight ceremony at Commonwealth Place on the southern foreshore of Lake Burley Griffin.

Please bring your family and a candle to light and spread a blanket on the Commonwealth Place lawn.

The event will take place rain or shine.

We’re not sure where the memorial for all those lives torn apart by a decade of bloody, ruinously expensive, and in large part pointless Wars On Stuff unleashed since that horrible day will be.

I’m the US at the moment, and it’s all we’ve had on the news and in the papers all week. For yanks, it’s a Big Deal.

I google’d ‘dump and bun’ and surprisingly got few results.

Pity there wont be F1-11s doing a dump and bun.
