The smell of Emily - tales from the city

I actually really like it.

A shoe-in for the ACT Poetry Award I say.

I think I speak for all Riotacters when I say: Dogging rulez!

The smell of somebody is really important. Whether baby or child or lover, the pheromones are a unique and pleasurable sensory experience.

Sniff.

Emily tries but misunderstands
She’s often inclined to borrow somebody’s dreams till tomorrow

Ah Syd.

I knew a guy who, years ago, made a sign which he attached to the top of the old person and kids crossing sign by the side of a major road.

It said “HUNTING SEASON OPEN”.

This is why you need to carry around a permanent marker at all times.

At the Canberra Hospital there is a multi level car park and up the top there is a ‘no pedestrian access’ sign which has a figure of a pedestrian but someone has removed the head off the figure. I’d love to write “No headless zombies” on it.

I like it. It is a bit of scribble on a fence. Nothing more, nothing less.

You didn’t ask if it would be as legal or ugly, but if “as sweet”. I totaly agree with you that it is as illegal and ugly.

Thumper +1. “The smell of” is in lower case, while everything else is in uppercase.

If it was Feni that wrote it all, it’s the equivalent of yelling “FENI LOVES WITH HIS BLACK DOGGIN HEART the smell of EMILY”

I think he’s sort of embarassed about loving the somewhat funky smell of Emily, but still wants to tell the world. He’s got it bad!

I’m a tax payer and I think it’s sweet, it’s better then some of the crap you see out there.

I think we should each be able to claim a bit of public space in this manner, as ‘the bit MY taxes paid for’. Unless Fini is a tourist, s/he probably paid for it…

I’m not sure about sweet, but it is poetic. Better than Dorothea McKellar, anyway.

No, due to “tags” being illegible squiggles, the literary equivalent of a dog peeing on a lamppost.

Give Emily some of my famous boiled egg and sprout vindaloo, then see how much he loves the smell of her…
