As of today the tender for the Yarralumla Nursery Garden Centre is open. Apparently there will be no loss of staff, and all the various programs and schemes that work through the Nursery will continue to run unaffected.
So business as usual folks.
“The ACT Government is offering the Garden Centre retail nursery, which has been part of the Yarralumla Nursery since 1994, for public sale as an ongoing business,” said Phillip Perram, Executive Director of the Business Enterprise Division in Territory and Municipal Services.
“The Garden Centre is 2,152 square metres in size and includes a shopfront, office building, unisex toilet and playground. It is located in a retail precinct on Banks Street in Yarralumla, next to the Heritage Nursery and the Yarralumla Gallery and Oaks Brasserie.”
The tender for the sale of the nursery closes on Thursday 28 November 2013 and the sale is expected to be concluded by the end of the 2013-14 financial year.
“Once the sale is complete, Yarralumla Nursery will return to its original focus of being a wholesale nursery that provides cool climate plants for Canberra’s public parks and streets as well as to landscaping contractors and retail outlets in the surrounding region.
