ACT Policing has seized a number of weapons, ammunition, and a small amount of drugs during a search warrant overnight (Monday 14 April) in Gordon.
Members from ACT Policing’s Tuggeranong Crime team seized a .12 gauge pump action shot gun and rounds, an air rifle with pellets, a double edged sword, a conducted energy weapon, extendable batons, knuckle dusters, handcuffs and a small amount of drugs.
Multiple resources were utilised, including Criminal Investigations, Special Response Group’s Tactical Response and Negotiators, Bomb Response Team, Firearms Registry and the K9 unit.
Investigations are currently ongoing and charges are expected to be laid.
This result comes as the Illicit Firearms campaign enters its final weeks, finishing on 30 April 2014. Under the campaign, rewards of up to $5000 are available for information that leads to the recovery of a firearm, or identity of anyone who may be using, keeping or making illicit firearms.
