The Canberra Times brings word that Melbourne’s Fulvio Gobeo is planning to expand his X-rated businesses in Canberra (facebook tells us he is a director of “TIFFANY’S PALACE, 5 star bordello, escorts available for $280 per hour”).
The new venture, planned for Gladstone Street in Fyshwick, is going to be a strip club to break Sinsations’ monopoly on that part of the entertainment dollar. (Unless you count Lakeside Ferry Cruises.)
The CT’s Louis Andrews cheekily slips in this bit of barely veiled menace:
Mr Gobeo declined to comment until the application process had been completed, other than to say Capital Men’s Club would be spending ”a lot of money” on promotional material ”if and when” the application was approved.
(So mind your manners if you want to get a slice of the ad spend)
The latter part of the article seems to be hinting that previous efforts, by other parties, to start a second strip bar in Canberra have been headed off through fear of the reputed owners of Sinsations, The Rebels OMCG. An un-named senior rebel denies they own that establishment.
