The ACT Office of Fair Trading has put out a media release explaining how the warranties from the “Watch This Roof” crowd aren’t all they are cracked up to be.
“Mr Penn was the sole director of The CRR Group Pty Ltd. That company, trading as Watch This Roof, carried out roof restoration work and gave 10 years warranties on its work. Those warranties are now worthless, as that company no longer exists. He was also a director of Canberra Roof Restoration P/L, which gave 15 year warranties. It was wound up in 1999″
They also cast doubt on the claims made about the product.
“Advertisements for Watch This Roof assert it is one of Australia’s oldest roof restorers and that the roof surfacing provides a permanent finish that will withstand whatever Australia’s harsh climate will throw at it. I asked Mr Penn to substantiate these and other claims. He failed to do so.
