Erewego, Koomarri has probably lost just about as much goodwill as they gained from the sale of the caravan park. Although the furore will die down, many of us have got long memories when it comes to people and organisations that do, or don’t do, the “right thing”.

The govt has, quite rightly, been blamed for once more sitting on its hands. Corbell had the opportunity when the property was mooted to be sold to ensure the long-term viability of the park and the interests of the residents. He chose to do nothing. Once again, Seven-Storey Call-in Corbell has demonstrated just how incompetent and useless he is.

The Libs started all this and are desperately trying to distance themselves from the shambles that they were instrumental in kicking off.

As for Josip Zivko of Consolidated Builders, all he’s done is confirm the view in the community that he’s nothing more than just another grubby little developer who has no social conscience whatsoever.

Losers, all of them. The Greens were looking pretty good, until they suggested that us weary taxpayers should bail out Koomarri and the developer. Pigs arse!

in a wider perspective, I remember the furor (or lack of it) when them Lithuanina club got sold- there was some outrage that although the club was underperforming, it was to be sold for profit, after, as I guess, it had been gifted for running a community club. What is WITH the lack of sophistication in these gifts?! Does the Govt recoup any of the land costs? – why dont they just revert to ACT Govt ownership when they cease to perform community functions?
similar has happened with other community clubs eg the old Yugo club in Weston.

Koomari have cashed the cheque, and the developers have their new place.
And the ACT Govt has the $1 it got for selling the property on to the private sector 6 yrs ago

By ACT Govt, you really mean all ACT taxpayers.

Now, that’s just not on. Why should we bail out a grubby developer and an unprincipled charity when one of their get-rich-quick schemes comes undone?

Simon corbell looks bad too. The greens brought this up with him months ago, when he could have used his powers to ensure the land purpose was very tightly described as a caravan park.

Sure he looks short sighted, but he doesn’t look malicious like Koomari or criminally negligent like the Libs.

Whoa there, ACT Government? WTF? All they should do is fast track the residents into good housing.

The pidgeon is flown. Damage control I can deal with, but TARDIS actions from the govmint stinks worse than their complete lack of concern in the first place.

As you may be aware the residents view, which we share, and Bishop Pat Power (see CTimes today) is that Koomarri and Zivko ought to back out now, and my thought is that the ACT Government should refund them all out of pocket expenses.

It would appear that the Libs, Corbell, Koomari, and the new site owners are all looking for bigger shovels to dig their way out of this one – or maybe just bury it.

As I see it the only equitable thing to do would be to offer a similar sized site elsewhere to CHC and move the residents there.
