A Ferrari, a spaceship and a giant flower are coming to the nation’s capital for a new exhibition and they all have one thing in common: they are made entirely out of LEGO.
The colourful models are just three of more than 60 models in the interactive exhibition Brickman Experience, one of the largest touring exhibitions of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, which opens at Exhibition Park from 28 September through to 14 October.
Made with more than five million LEGO bricks, the epic exhibition will showcase some of the world’s largest and most detailed LEGO models including one of the biggest ever Star Wars LEGO builds, a model Airbus A380, a quarter scale LEGO Ferrari and the world’s largest LEGO flower.
The exhibition features a collection of LEGO models by Ryan McNaught who is the only LEGO certified professional in the Southern Hemisphere and one of just 14 in the world. Mr McNaught and his team’s award-winning creations have featured in locations around the world and will now grace Canberra for the first time.

Arriving in the capital these school holidays, the interactive exhibition is suitable for children big and small, and Canberra’s budding brickies will also have the opportunity to build their own LEGO creations in the interactive master builder zones.
The Melbourne-based McNaught said the interactive exhibition featured a collection of his works from over the years.
“I am really excited that the Brickman Experience is heading to Canberra. This exhibition is very special to me because it is the original collection of my individual works, brought together in one space, for everyone to enjoy,” he said.
“We’ve had huge success with the exhibition across Australia and New Zealand, so it only seems fitting we bring it to Canberra.”
Showcasing a collection of LEGO models that are fun, inspirational and memorable, Canberrans will enjoy an interactive and hands-on experience, while learning about each individual model.
“LEGO brings people together, everyone loves it – kids, parents, grandparents, everyone has a memory of playing with LEGO and I’m looking forward to sharing my creations with LEGO fans in Canberra and meeting all the budding brickies out there,” Mr McNaught said.
“Brickman Experience is a great activity for all the family to enjoy – no matter what age you are! I’ve got a few exciting things for the kids (and big kids) to participate in, so everyone can enjoy creating brick masterpieces as well as enjoying the exhibition.”
