If you want to have a go at the sport, probably best not to quote numbers. More players than all the other sports combined, 20,000 in Canberra alone. A-League’s going fine, and the giant has already awoken (and it’s coming to crush you!).

With A-league crowds down 16% last season and plumetting it’s probably a good thing we didn’t get a team. At least the soccer folks don’t even pretend to be just waiting for the “sleeping giant” to awaken any more.

I’ll be there. It will be a full strength team since they’ve got a qualifier a few days later. The Socceroos are world class and Holger Osiek is finding some real gems within the youngsters. $25 is not much more than going to the movies you tight ar$es. It probably costs $10 to go see the local rugby grand final, and this is your national team playing down the road from you. Crowd will be big.

$80? ahahahahahaha, yeah i’ll pass. It’s a shame too – because i would have actually gone if the tickets were reasonable.

Its exciting till you go to the ticketek website and check out the prices. $80 for an A-reserve seat for an adult, $50 for B reserve – the $25 tickets are only for C Reserve which no doubt will be utterly awful seats. $80 to see the Socceroos play a meaningless friendly against a team ranked 146 in the world that lost to Singapore in world cup qualifiers. Get real Football Federation Australia – will be lucky to get 10,000 to the game, when reasonable prices would have led to 20K+ at the game.
